Trois Allumettes, by Hervé Boivin
'Trois Allumettes'.

Hervé Boivin worked for a fanzine while pursuing his art studies. He decided to become a professional comic artist after learning the finer points of the profession from Lidwine, Lepage and Plessix. He started his career at a small publishing house, Treize Étrange, that published 'Les Mésaventures de Jan L'Oli' and 'Le Petit Chat Huant'. Afterwards, he made posters and backgrounds for a theater group. The scriptwriter David Chauvel found Boivin's style appropriate for one of his stories. This resulted in the detective comic 'Trois Allumettes'. Boivin and Chauvel continued their cooperation with 'Lili et Winker' (2001). Boivin developed more graphic styles, being influenced by artists like Rabaté, Aristophane and Blutch.
