Don Tobin was born in Austin, Texas, and graduated from the University of California in 1936. He worked as an animator on the Disney features 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' (1937), 'Pinocchio' (1940) and 'Fantasia' (1940). He also animated on US Navy training films for three years. Don Tobin left Disney after the 1941 strike and became a magazine cartoonist. He created a regular comic series called the 'Little Woman' in 1953. A book of these strips was published in 1965. Tobin was part of the clan of cartoonists working at Laguna Beach, that included the Interlandi brothers, Virgil Partch, John Dempsey and Ed Nofziger. He died in 1995 at age 79.
He should not be confused with British association football player Don Tobin (°1955).
