Chris Browne was born in South Orange, New Jersey as the son of the famous comic artist Dik Browne. Chris followed in the footsteps of his father, whom he started out assisting on 'Hi and Lois' and 'Hägar the Horrible'. He helped his father with the writing of 'Hägar' gags from the series' launch in 1972. When Dik Browne retired in 1988, Chris continued 'Hägar', that is syndicated by King Features to 45 countries. His brother Chance Browne continued 'Hi and Lois'. In addition to 'Hägar', Chris Browne has contributed cartoons to National Lampoon, Playboy, Esquire, Heavy Metal and The New Yorker. He also created the newspaper strip 'Raising Duncan'.
