Lourdes Rueda Sala is a Spanish artist of Disney comics, who has worked for Egmont in Denmark since 2017. She is also an economist and actress.
Life and career
Lourdes Rueda Sala received her degree in Economics from the University of Barcelona, where she studied from 2004 to 2011. During that period, she also attended the Escola de Dansa i Comèdia Musical Coco Comin (2007-2010) and the Escuela Nancy Tuñón - Jordi Oliver (2011-2012) to finetune her acting and dancing skills.
Rueda Sala received her artistic education at the Joso School for Comics and Visual Arts in Barcelona, where she took part in a course in Disney art organized by the Danish publishing house Egmont Creative, with art director Fernando Guëll and veterans Ulrich Schröder and Daan Jippes as supervisors. The course brought forth a new wave of freelance Spanish Disney artists, which also included Diego Bernardo Álvarez, Joan Crexells Aparicio, Xavi Martin Sancho, Sebastián Puñales and Cynthia Campanario Pineda. Since 2017, Rueda Sala has drawn several one-page riddle comics starring 'Detective Donald' or 'Mickey Mouse', the first being published in Scandinavia in November 2017. She was later also assigned to regular short stories and gag pages.
